Is GlassBag a replacement for the bottle bank?
Yes. Instead of driving to a bottle bank or glass recycling centre, GlassBag collects glass bottles and jars directly from your doorstep across all Dublin postcodes, North Wicklow, North Kildare and South Meath.
What glass do you collect?
We collect all glass bottles and jars — wine bottles, beer bottles, spirit bottles, sauce jars, jam jars and more. We also accept broken glass. We don't collect mirrors, window glass, Pyrex, ceramics or light bulbs.
How is this different from the Deposit Return Scheme?
The Deposit Return Scheme (Re-turn) covers plastic bottles and cans that carry a deposit mark. GlassBag handles all glass bottles and jars, which are not part of the DRS. We're complementary services — you use Re-turn for plastic and cans, and GlassBag for all your glass. Learn more about the DRS and glass.
Do I need to sort glass by colour?
No. Simply place all your glass bottles and jars into the GlassBag. We handle the sorting at our recycling facility.

Yes! Wine bottles, beer bottles, spirit bottles, glass candle jars and all food jars are accepted. Just give them a quick rinse and pop them in your GlassBag.

With GlassBag, you simply collect glass in your reusable bag at home and put it out on collection day. No driving to a bring centre, no loading the car, and no queuing. It's the easiest way to recycle glass from home.
